The Railtown 1897 Historic State Park is open daily with round-house tours, viewings, and memorabilia of the over 200 movies that have used their facilities over the last 85 years. Columbia State Historic Park, which boasts the most authentic gold rush buildings in the Mother Lode is only 4 miles away. There you can find stagecoach rides, a candy shop which hand dips its chocolates and pulls its candy canes, a 19th century theatre, an old saloon where you can get sarsaparilla, and shops where you can buy real gold pieces from the river or creek. Yosemite National Park is less then an hour in a half away, so it is easy to go to for the day. Seven golf courses are within a 30 minute drive, ranging from championship to secluded 9-hole course in the pines.
